So sleepy.
My doctor finally thought it was time to start me on blood pressure medicine, and I must say it is working perfectly. My blood pressure was in the 155/95 range, and since I have started the medicine, it has been right where it should be at 120/75, and my chest doesn’t feel like it is caving in. But, I can’t beat this exhaustion. I feel like such a bum. I have been lying on the couch most of the day. I finally got up and told myself that I am not going to lay back down! I just hope this goes away. My doctor told me I could experience this for a couple of weeks or so. I feel like such a bad mom when I just lay around. Maybe I just need a large cherry coke! That would make me feel better!
No commentsShopping for renters insurance.
So, do you know of a good renters insurance company? I feel that for what we need, the quotes I am getting are way off. I have called so many companies the past week, and I still don’t have one picked out. I am not sure what mortgage life insurance is, but I am assuming that you need a mortgage! Ha! I just feel that it is very important that we have renters insurance considering that the two nasty ladies downstairs smoke themselves to death.
1 commentHow would we sleep?
We have used an air purifier for about a year now in our bedroom. Eric and I were discussing how we would ever sleep if the air purifier ever gave out. We just have to have the white noise now, and I am not sure that we could find another that makes the same noise that we are accustomed to. Not to mention that air purifiers are a bit costly these days, but still well worth the money! I am sure that once Laura has her own room we will need to purchase her one as well!

No commentsCleaning sucks.
I have been cleaning all weekend, and I am only half way done. Ugh! I hate cleaning, but it has to be done! I must say that since we downsized some things in Gavin’s room, his room is looking much better! He even has room for a beer pong table in there, even though one will not be going in there! Even when he is old enough for one! I think he enjoys having the extra room to play! Soon his sister will be sharing a room with him, well by soon I mean a couple of years. We even had time to hang our LCD television on the wall, and I must say it looks really good!
No commentsSo, we ended up not moving.
Well, we lost a 300 dollar deposit, but we will save over 2 grand in the long run. We were all packed to move, and were excited about it, until we all came down with the flu. We ended up just renewing our lease for another year, and will probably stay here a couple of more years. The new place wasn’t anything more than new appliances and some new bathroom faucets, which is not worth 150 more a month to me. We spent a couple hundred bucks painting this place and spent a couple hundred more on some new furniture, and this place looks much better.
No commentsMy brain is playing tricks on me.
So, I just got done using up one gallon of kilz to cover up the blue walls in my sons room. One gallon is not going to cut it, I could only get half done. I want to scream! I feel very sick though, from the fumes…..which having windows open and a fan going did not help at all. Both of my arms feel real heavy, and I am extremely dizzy. Blah. Not impressed.
1 commentCorolla #2. Yes #2.
So, our car now has been in and out of the shop, and no problems were found. Although, the car has what I call “seizures” every couple of days. The idle will suddenly go up in the 4000s, the car can be parked, or in drive, or in reverse, it doesn’t really matter. Then the idle will suddenly drop so low that it shakes so hard and acts if it is about to die. Not good, right? Not a car that I feel comfortable keeping, even if they did give us a 6 month warranty on their work. No thank you. I don’t feel comfortable keeping a car that obviously has something going on with the engine.
Now, we scored a sweet deal on this car. So, the past couple of days we have been searching the internet trying to find another Corolla that falls in the same price range, that has a decent amount of miles, and some of the bells and whistles. We found one, and I actually think it is much better looking than the one we have right now, and it is only 1k more. (The gold one is the one we own right now, the white one is the one being transfered in to replace the gold one)

Before, and after.
This is how Laura smiled, back a few months ago:

This is how she smiles now. Scared? I am! LOL!

Cuteness.
Cuteness.
No commentsCorolla.
So, I am not so happy with our new car. I really miss my van, but hubby said that I cannot have it back. I just feel like I drive a death trap now. And it seems like it is made so cheaply. So many things have already gone wrong in it, and we have not even paid our first payment on it yet. I am just bummed. I feel like I gave my massive van, and 800 dollars, just to get a piece of junk. Just bummed.
The other day I did a search to see what the major complaints were on Corollas, and I found an article about how in certain car models, car covers are not to be applied to the front seats, due to side air bags. Now they are making side air bags, that will deploy from the side of the seats. If you apply a seat cover, you might prohibit the air bags ability to deploy on impact. Crazy! I miss having curtain airbags. I hope the Quest finds a good new home. LOL!
No comments10 Days till the big moving day!
I am totally excited, but also worried as well. What if we move and it ends up like where we are. Well, you know, I don’t think anything could be worse than cigarette smoke coming up through the dryer vent, making your 11 month olds clothes smelling like an astray. And hopefully that can’t happen twice. If it did I would think it was a curse. And I am sure that moving to a bottom floor unit will make a huge difference on our electric bill, along with making some energy efficient changes. I plan to replace all the bulbs with energy efficient ones, and adding thermal curtains, and hopefully getting around to weather sealing the doors and windows.
I am excited to get some well deserved time off with my husband. We never see each other really. We don’t have a day off together, and I hate it. We will probably end up so stressed that we end up fighting, but heck, at least it will be time together! LOL!
On another note, we read a few days ago that Gatorade is good to have around in case you get a headache. Have you ever heard of that? You just drink 2 glasses at the on set of a headache, and it is known to stop it instantly. I have not tried this yet, but I get enough headaches to see if it works! I wonder what grape seed extract can do?
No commentsGavin is doing so well.
So, our son Gavin is talking really well. We only understand about 60%, but that is better than it was back a year ago when we could only understand about 30% of what he said. He undergoes testing at Vanderbilt in April, so hopefully they can tell us where he falls on the “autistic scale”. School seems to be helping him, it just doesn’t seem to be helping him like we thought it would. He seems to be sick all of the time as well, which has caused him to miss a lot of school in the past couple of months. I thought about checking out some engraved plaques or trophies, to give him at the end of his first school year. As of right now it doesn’t look like he will be attending kindergarten next year, but that could change.
No commentsWhy Buy.com rocks!
I must say that I am very impressed this site! The video the children and I made gives you many reasons why buy.com rocks! They offer many different products, ranging from a mp3 player to a refrigerator! They even carry the Nintendo Wii, along with many different accessories! I love shopping for new kitchen appliances, and they have so many to offer! Buy.com offers amazing Prices, free shipping offers, price comparison engine to see all competitors prices, professional and customer video product reviews, and a huge product selection! Gavin and both found things that we would love to order! You should watch the video, and then check buy.com out for yourself to see why we say that why buy.com rocks! Of course my little actors are in this video as well! I think Laura wants to be a movie star!
1 commentI am hoping to find a cheaper insurance company.
So we have been with our insurance company for a few years now. It seemed after the first year, we got a pretty sweet discount, but that was the only time we have seen any kind of discount. I am thinking seriously about checking out some online auto insurance companies to get a few quotes. I am not going to stay with this company if another offers me a better rate. For some reason I feel like when you have been with a company a while, they just think that you are stuck, and will not leave. Wrong.
