Gerber.
I have just emailed Gerber.com. Here is what I wrote;
“With all the concerns about Bisphenol A in plastic, why do you all use #7 plastics? I have found that the juices and food containers that your company uses are all #7. Do you really care about the safety and the nutrition of infants, or do you just care about saving a few bucks by throwing out the glass? Glass is safe, and it is a earth friendly product, and there are no health concerns or risks with glass. Why not stick with it?”
Lets see if they get back to me. I highly doubt that they will.
No commentsHome Sweet Home.
It would be great to be a home owner. I hate the apartment life, even though I love our apartment. I just hate everything that goes along with living in an apartment, the noisy neighbors, the barking dogs, the cars that have the music up so loud. Hopefully in a couple of years, and once the economy has gotten back on its feet, we will check in with some mortgage lenders, and start our search for that cute little home to call ours!
No commentsSomeone take me on vacation!
I would love to be able to afford to go on vacation! I wish I could go to Las Vegas, but unfortunately I don’t have money to gamble away, so it wouldn’t be a wise choice for me to pack up my Delsey luggage and jump on a plane to fly there anytime soon. Plus, it would be a super long drive there and back because we don’t fly. Flying just freaks us out. Not sure why though! Maybe we will take a trip when the kids are older, maybe once they are old enough to go on the rides at Disney World!
No commentsRock on!
Ha! Gavin rocking out to his favorite group, Rascal Flatts. The ear buds that came with his MP3 player kept falling out of his ears, so I had to get creative! The way he was “rocking out” made him look like he was listening to heavy metal! So goofy!

Straighten up, and act like you care!
Last night I went off on the manager at BabiesRUs. Reason why? Because they have NOTHING posted about the Bisphenol A in baby bottles. Yes, the FDA has not recalled the bottles (ALTHOUGH THEY SHOULD), but stores like BabiesRUs really have a responsibility in my opinion to educate the customer. Last night I had to run errands after work. I started by heading off to Wal-Mart, like I always do. As I am heading down the “baby” isle, I notice that they have posted a letter underneath the baby bottles. Of course I had to stop and read it. It was just a small paragraph to educate and show their concern to the customer. They briefly went over the concerns regarding Bisphenol A in many of the baby bottles they carried. There has not been a recall, but they did want to notify customers that there are a few bottles that do not contain the Bisphenol A. Wow, I was shocked. What a great thing Wal-Mart has done! Good for them! I left Wal-Mart and I had decided to run to BabiesRUs to get some drop in liners (Bisphenol A FREE!). I go in and notice that they don’t have anything posted! I haven’t made a trip there in a LONG time, and I was shocked to see that they didn’t have any notification up. This is a “baby supply store”! I think they should offer the education for that mother, grandmother, father, whomever is shopping for that baby! It just makes me angry! The craziest thing, though, was that someone from our local newspaper emailed me today about the post that I had done months back when I first read about Bisphenol A. Crazy things!
1 commentGrowing hair.
I have been thinking about growing my hair back out. Long. I am just sick of the short hair, and if I am going to start really working out, I would like to pull my hair back into a ponytail, but it isn’t long enough now to pull it all up. I never intend for it to look like a cocker spaniel again….see pic below. I was pregnant with Laura in that picture, so maybe the hormones screwed up my sense of judgment! I am glad that picture is not in any of our picture frames around here! Horrid!

I am such a loser!
So I am a proud blackberry owner, and I didn’t even know that my 8100 was a MP3 player. I had to call my husband yesterday to ask him. Ha! I plan to join a gym in the next week and I was wanting to get my old MP3 player out and get it ready. I am so glad my phone does it! Sweet, my blackberry just got even better! I have added a gig of music, and unfortunately for now that is all it can hold. After I stick with working out I will look into getting some extra memory for my blackberry. I had no clue that I would fill up a 1 gig card. Too funny.
No commentsStupid Insurance Company!
Eric pays for us to have optical insurance. I went not to far back to get my prescription eyeglasses, and found that the insurance company only pays for the basic lens. So, I ended up getting the basic lens, because no-glare lenses would have cost me about 80 dollars out of pocket. Forget that. It was ridiculous. Not to mention that my glasses are not fitting right and I will have to drive back down there to have them re-fitted. It isn’t like they are cheap eyeglasses, it was 150 bucks just for the stupid frames. I had to have the stupid DKNY frames! Well, the way I see it is if I have to be a nerd in glasses, I will be a fashionable one! Too bad I couldn’t afford the DG frames!
No commentsI love free lunches.
We have tons of sales reps that like to give us free “lunch seminars” at work. I love it. We usually get free samples of the products, and a free lunch. The other day one of the dog food companies threw us a lunch seminar and we ate lunch from Shane’s Rib Shack. It was freaking awesome! I have never had the chance to eat there yet, and I was really impressed. They give you way too much food though! I could only eat half of my plate! We also were given free logo pens, but only if we “involved” ourselves by asking questions and such. We have had three luncheons this month so far, keep them coming! Ha!
No commentsLook around you.
I am at a point in my life where things are very stressful, but I am the happiest I have ever been. I have a *wonderful* husband who loves me a ton, a brilliant little boy who is the goofiest person I will ever know, and a baby girl who makes me smile everyday. My life revolves around those three, and I would die for them. We live in a small apartment, which has been stressful at times, but I have grown to love and that I will actually miss once we move out….in a couple of years. When I was little, all I could imagine was meeting my prince and getting married and having a family. That was the only thing I wanted for myself. I am lucky to have such a great life. We make it through the tough times, and it only makes us stronger. We are thankful to have each day.
On another note, Gavin went to Karate last night. I was laughing so much that I started to cry. He was SO stinking cute. I took a picture, but it turned out so blurry that you can’t even tell it is Gavin. I loved going and watching him. It brought so much joy to my heart! He did get frustrated when he had to sit to the side for about 15 minutes, because he didn’t know what they were doing, he was in a class with 6-10 year olds, and he is 4. We came home and called another place, and they have a class for 4 and 5 year olds only. We are taking him there Monday night so he can try that class out. Hopefully he will not get pushed aside there! The place we are taking him Monday night is about double the cost of the place we were at last night, but after talking to them on the phone, it seems that it might just be worth it. I am hoping that his grandparents might chip in and help us pay for it, but I highly doubt it. We don’t get any financial help from them, but we are doing just fine! And if I have to skip my lunch breaks, and work 11 hours straight to help pay for his Karate, I will do so! I love that little boy!
