Chandler Bing.

Posted by Jen

Poor kitty. He is SICK. Running a high fever now, coughing, sneezing, not eating. Currently I am having to syringe water and Nutrical down his little throat. Not fun. But, you can see after 30 minutes of me doing it that he feels better. I am taking him into work with me tomorrow so he can get IV fluids and antibiotics. He is also getting B12 injections, but only once a week. He just has a bad upper respiratory infection, which doesn’t sound like much, but it can easily kill a kitten of his size. Hopefully after he gets some IV fluids and some antibiotics pumped into his skinny body he will feel better. He most certainly doesn’t need any diet pills!*Crossing fingers*

The best birthday gift EVER.

Posted by Jen

Meet Chandler Bing. I rescued him on Tuesday. He was about 3 minutes away from being euthanized due to over crowding at our local animal control facility. Unfortunately it is something that is hard to deal with, but it has to been done due to over crowding of “unwanted” or “unplanned” pets. I wish people would just spay and neuter their pets. I just couldn’t let it happen to him. There he was, in a small cage with about 5 other kittens, just looking straight at me. SO….I took him out and adopted him on the spot, about 3 minutes before he was no longer to be. So, happy birthday to me! And what a great deal for him. He does have a kitty cold, from being in the shelter with so many others that were sick, but he tested negative for feline aids and leukemia, and negative for worms and ear mites. He is a bit underweight, but I am working on that. =) He is currently getting B12 injections to help him beat off this cold. He is the most GENTLE and LOVING kitten I have ever met. We adore him.

These two are wonderful.

I have never seen someone fight so hard for Autism awareness.

These two are very special people.

Opening so many eyes and ears.

The bill was passed.

Although the economy needed a boost, I don’t agree with the “bailout”. But, hey, I guess it is something that they had to do, especially since they waited until the last minute. Who knows, there are so many secrets they keep from us, speaking about the general public. I know that things were going to get much worse, but they wouldn’t have stayed that way. The big dogs on wall street needed a good colon cleanse, wouldn’t you agree? And what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger….right? How bad would it really hurt us if this “bailout” doesn’t even touch the damage that has been done?

I always forget to assign categories, and it is just one of my many flaws. I will start now! Ha! I guess as everyone knows, the economy is pretty rough right now, and that is taking a toll on our bank account, and it is pissing me off! It is not like I am out buying Harley parts or anything crazy like that, I am just purchasing food to feed my family, and putting gas in our tiny Corolla. Just buying enough to get by. The prices at the grocery store are inflating at a horrible rate. I just can’t get over it. Back about a year ago I could actually walk into the store and get everything we needed for a week, food wise, and only spend right over a hundred dollars, now two hundred isn’t enough. Everything is going downhill fast, and someone needs to catch it.

This is my favorite one so far. What a dummmmy.

No money.

Posted by Jen

I bet that debt collection agencies are doing good these days, since the economy is going downhill. I hate it that so many people are loosing their homes. That would be so awful to go through. People are having to leave their pets behind as well, which has the shelters over flowing with abandoned animals. I just wish the government would have came up with a game plan months ago, as they knew we were in a bad situation, or they would have never done the stimulus. I guess they were hoping it would all just go away. By the way, did you know that Obama opposes off-shore drilling? Just something to think about. More off-shore drilling would help our oil costs. But oh well, what does he care? It isn’t like he will have to pay for his gas anyways, we will! Do your research before you vote, PLEASE. If Obama is voted in, I am sure there will be plenty of “Don’t blame me, I voted for McCain” bumper stickers.

I hate changing medicine.

Posted by Jen

So my doctor has changed my blood pressure medicine again! This will be the 4th medicine that he has switched me to. Now he wants to try a diuretic, to get the extra fluid off of my heart….at least this is what he thinks is causing it, I have no clue. I know some people use them as weight loss pills, so if I loose weight from taking them I will not complain. Ha!

Too much television.

Posted by Jen

So guess what comes on tonight?! Desperate Housewives! I am SO excited! I feel like I have been waiting a year! I know that for the next few months we will be glued to the television on Thursday and Sunday nights. It is going to be great! I love not having to watch reruns!

Oh, and for those who love the Hawaiian Bread you can purhcase at the store, I think it is “King’s Hawaiian Bread”, here is a recipe that you can bake up right in your own kitchen. I love that bread! I am going to try the recipe out next week!

Ingredients:
6 cups all purpose flour
3 eggs
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 packages yeast
1 stick margarine

Beat eggs; add pineapple juice, water, sugar, ginger, vanilla and melted margarine. Put 3 cups flour in a large mixing bowl. Add egg mixture and stir until well mixed. Sprinkle in yeast, 1 package at a time, mixing well. Gradually add other 3 cups flour. Batter will be hard to mix with spoon. You may have to use your hand. Leave batter in bowl and cover with cloth and place in warm place. Let rise 1 hour. Remove from bowl and knead in 1/2 cup flour. Knead about 10 times. Divide into 3 equal parts and place in well greased round cake pans. Cover and place in warm place and let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes.

Trixie, the skinny kitty.

Posted by Jen

So we recently adopted another kitty from a shelter in Kentucky. Her name is Trixie, and we believe she might have an eating problem, just kidding. She eats like a hog, but is skinny as a rail. She doesn’t need any weight loss pills for sure! Hopefully since she is at her home now she will gain some much needed weight.

Girls Next Door.

Posted by Jen

I absolutely love watching the Girls Next Door. It is one of my favorite television shows on right now. They get to vacation to some of the nicest places. On the episode I just watched they got to stay at some of the nicest hotels in las vegas. I am so jealous! The new season starts on October 5th, which is 4 days away from my 27th birthday, so that is a great present to myself! Ha! I love it! I hope I get another WoodWick candle for my birthday! Hint, hint!

Organic baby.

Posted by Jen

When I was searching for Laura’s crib bedding set I couldn’t find any organic sets. I ended up going online and found a site that had tons of crib bedding sets to choose from. When it comes to a newborn, I think having organic crib bedding is a great idea. Buying anything organic these days is a good way to buy. I like that Gerber has now put out an organic line of baby food. Don’t you wish the whole world could live without all of the chemicals and pesticides?

WoodWick…..I love thee.

So, someone came into work today talking about these candles that when lit sound like a burning fireplace. I had to have one. I immediately asked where I could get one of these, and I was told Cracker Barrel. Needless to say I just got back from Cracker Barrel, with my new candle. These candles are NOT cheap. They usually run 17.99 for a 10oz. I ended up getting one that was on clearance for 10.50, the “Macintosh” (Apple) sent. It smells wonderful! And I LOVE the way it sounds! I am hoping for my birthday that my hubby will get me the “Fireside” one. I really loved its scent, but I didn’t want to dump 20 bucks into something before I got to try it out. Their quilts were 25% off which made them 75 dollars, and if I had an extra 75 bucks laying around I would have bought one, ha! I adore their quilts, and I sleep every night with the one that my husband bought me from Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago. I wonder if their employees get a discount…..maybe I could get a part time job there, so I can buy all of the cool things they have! =)
