Best Puppy, Dog Shampoo.

December 31st, 2008 | Category: Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog, Puppies, Addison Lynn, Pets, Home, Shopping, Health, Misc.

I ordered the “Calming Lavender” dog and puppy shampoo from PetEdge.com the other day, and I must say that it is BY FAR the best shampoo I have used on any animal. Addison is so hyper, and bath time is usually hard for her and me. Considering I bathe her every week, I needed something that had that “calming” effect. This shampoo is made by Professional Pet Products and is part of the AromaCare Aromatherapy For Pets line. This shampoo has natural essentail lavender oil to soothe, calm and comfort, which it most certainly does. I will continue to use it for Addison, as it really does help calm her during her bath, and her coat is so smooth and soft, and it also smells wondeful when we are done.

Ha, ha, ha!

December 14th, 2008 | Category: Pets, Health, Shopping

Today I was looking at one of my favorite websites for puppy items when I came across a treadmill made for dogs! How funny is that! I am sure it is a great idea, for those that live in apartments, etc. Some dogs do have certain health problems, and walking can help, but mainly many dogs are overweight and this would benefit them very well. You would not believe how many overweight animals, not just dogs…cats too, that come into the animal clinic that I work at. So many people overfeed their animals, it is crazy!

How cute is this???

Cute comes in small packages.

Eric and I have been watching a lot of tv because this awesome show comes on Animal Planet, Dogs 101. It is the best show ever…well maybe not the best show, but it is really neat. They go over all the breeds, only like 4 or 5 at a time. It is just really cool to learn about all of the different breeds, and for those looking for a new family member it can be a really helpful tool. With almost every breed they show them as puppies, which is my favorite part. I love puppies. They are so sweet….most of them. There are so many dog breeds. There is also a new show on Animal Planet that I am into, Whale Wars. I believe I am four episodes in, but I am hooked. It is a very controversial and interesting show.I never run out of things to watch. I am really excited for the new episode of Girls Next Door. These “new” girlfriends (the twins) are not all that pretty. I can’t believe they replaced Holly, Kendra and Bridget. I will be bummed when the show is over.

Chandler is still sick!

November 13th, 2008 | Category: Pets, Parenting, Gavin, Shopping, Misc.

Weeks after he seemed to be over his upper respiratory infection, Chandler’s bloodwork is still showing signs that he is sick. Poor thing. He has been on medicine and all of that. I wanted to get him neutered before the holidays but I am not sure that is going to happen now.
I am almost done buying Christmas gifts for the kids, keep in mind I am not buying them jewelry or anything like that. I have just picked up a few toys here and there. Gavin requested a Robosapien, which he will get. Hopefully he will be happy with it, as it has been all he can think or talk about!

Chandler Bing.

October 12th, 2008 | Category: Pets, Cats, Parenting, Misc.

Poor kitty. He is SICK. Running a high fever now, coughing, sneezing, not eating. Currently I am having to syringe water and Nutrical down his little throat. Not fun. But, you can see after 30 minutes of me doing it that he feels better. I am taking him into work with me tomorrow so he can get IV fluids and antibiotics. He is also getting B12 injections, but only once a week. He just has a bad upper respiratory infection, which doesn’t sound like much, but it can easily kill a kitten of his size. Hopefully after he gets some IV fluids and some antibiotics pumped into his skinny body he will feel better. He most certainly doesn’t need any diet pills!*Crossing fingers*

The best birthday gift EVER.

October 09th, 2008 | Category: Pets, Cats, Misc.

Meet Chandler Bing. I rescued him on Tuesday. He was about 3 minutes away from being euthanized due to over crowding at our local animal control facility. Unfortunately it is something that is hard to deal with, but it has to been done due to over crowding of “unwanted” or “unplanned” pets. I wish people would just spay and neuter their pets. I just couldn’t let it happen to him. There he was, in a small cage with about 5 other kittens, just looking straight at me. SO….I took him out and adopted him on the spot, about 3 minutes before he was no longer to be. So, happy birthday to me! And what a great deal for him. He does have a kitty cold, from being in the shelter with so many others that were sick, but he tested negative for feline aids and leukemia, and negative for worms and ear mites. He is a bit underweight, but I am working on that. =) He is currently getting B12 injections to help him beat off this cold. He is the most GENTLE and LOVING kitten I have ever met. We adore him.
